Seaplane industry

Seaplanes are aircraft that are designed to take off and land on the surface of the water.  Seaplanes are a fast and efficient way to travel to and from coastal areas and islands, particularly when the island is far from shore.  In addition, seaplanes have an excellent track record in remote areas, often used in the Alaskan and Canadian wilderness as part of rescue missions.  Finally, unlike regular planes seaplanes do not require that a large and expensive runway be constructed to accommodate the plane.

Canadian seaplane operators are world renowned.  Due to the natural geography which is rich in resources located in remote areas, seaplanes have become a necessity for the resources-based industries.  It is also a strong player in the business and tourism industries, providing fast and efficient charter flights, as well as providing scenic aerial tours and access to hard to reach destinations.
