Company profile - Expertise: Dale Floyd

Dale Floyd has over 35 years of experience in maintaining and flying aircrafts.  He has accumulated well over 10,000 hours as a pilot most of that time being on floats and amphibs in aircraft up to the DHC-6 Twin Otter.  Dale also has experience setting up float plane operations in Canada, Maldives, Greece, and Malta.

In Canada, Dale was with West Coast Air from the inception of their floatplane division of AirBC.  He was the Director of Maintenance and started from scratch to set up and operate the airline.  He has also set up and operated two additional approved maintenance organizations in Canada while stilling acting as a pilot for various commercial operations.

Dale has acted as a consultant to Hummingbird Island Airways in the Maldives to facilitate the creation of their fixed wing operation.  This project included demonstrating and training the company's employees on how to build docks and ramps, as well as how to set up ramps for launching and recovering the aircraft, finding suitable lagoons to operate from, provide education for the maintenance facilities, fueling and servicing.  Dale also consulted on and educated the company on aircraft operational requirements, as winds and weather are unique to each location.  He has also acted as the Chief Engineer for SunExpress Air in the Republic of the Maldives, and was responsible for setting up the maintenance base for facilities, tooling, equipment and crews, writing all manuals and procedures.  He also assisted the Operations Manager with setting up all of the operational requirements.  Once the Air Operator's Certificates (AOC) were granted, he became a line pilot on their Twin Otter.

In Malta, Dale developed and wrote maintenance training programs for the Twin Otter to comply with local regulations.  In Greece he acted as a consultant to the Director of Maintenance of a seaplane airline.
